Meet The Trainers.
Kit has been a professional dancer and movement educator for many years, and she loves to facilitate other people’s movement journeys. In 2010 she completed her 200-hour Prana Flow yoga teaching certification under the mentorship of Maria Garre at Ananda Shala (MD). She is currently enrolled in Embodyoga’s 300-hour training program with Patty Townsend (Amherst, MA), which integrates the groundbreaking somatic work of Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen’s Body-Mind Centering with yoga.
Initially drawn to yoga to complement her dance training, Kit found that a regular practice not only helped alleviate chronic lower back pain but also provided a tremendously powerful way to stay grounded in a busy world. Her classes emphasize an intelligent progression of yoga postures (with modifications given for more challenging asanas) and offer numerous entryways into different body systems for students to find fuller embodiment in their practice.
Kit has taught people of all ages and experience levels in studios, schools, and community settings in West Virginia, Maryland, and Ontario.
