Vanessa is a yogi novice, having only begun practicing four years ago. The first studio class she and her husband ever attended was at Ananda Shala back in 2013. She found yoga not only promotes physical health, but also served as a great way to manage stress. She also enjoys the friendships she has made in the yoga community. Vanessa became a Reiki Master in 2016 and she graduated from The Shala School of Yoga’s 200 Hour Teacher Training program in February 2017. She plans to continue her yoga studies in yin, restorative and the nidra. Her dream is to open a yoga studio in Nicaragua when she retires.
